Ella’s deep background in public health and biotechnology provides a strong foundation for excellent professional relationships with health care providers of other modalities. She can communicate effectively with your doctor about your health issues and your treatment plan if you choose.

Ella began her career as an Entomologist, studying insects. In Florida she studied mosquito-borne diseases, particularly viral encephalitis and malaria. In California she taught the biology, ecology and control of disease vector insects and conducted research on natural controls for the common cockroach. Realizing that her career would be severely limited without a Ph.D. in this field and lacking the funds to pursue a doctorate full time, Ella migrated to a more business-related application of her biological training. She launched a career negotiating contracts and licenses for research projects for the Department of Defense, NASA, and UC’s Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory. During this time she earned her MBA from San Francisco State University, then Ella moved into the biotech industry and became Senior Manager of Research and Development Contracts and Licenses. She wrapped up this part of her career as Director of Corporate Contracts for Coulter Pharmaceutical, Inc.

Acupuncture Works is located at the north end of Pacifica just off Highway 1. There is easy access to patients coming from all parts of San Francisco, and the mid and north Peninsula, via highway 280 and highway 1.
